Winner Lindt Chocolate Hamper

This past Friday I had what I though was a going to be great surprise for one Pomegranate Days reader.  I was going to make someone’s day, knock them over, give them a day that simply “kicked it” and I was incredibly smug that all of this was going to be done with chocolate.And then it happened.  I ended being the most blessed of all.

But I am getting ahead of myself, first things first…Lets start with the choosing the winner.  A most very official, audited process.  You may need to force yourself to look past the bed hair and the bad lighting and focus on the cutestness of my offspring, or maybe just marvel at my video making skills…

If you were unmoved by Handsome in this clip feel free to watch it again and this time examine my most very beautiful new tree skirt.  {I was inspired by Virginia over at LiveloveDIY and that tree skirt only took me about fourteen hundred hours of cutting and wrestling with my glue gun to produce.  {PS crafting is really hard.}

Anyway, as Pretty Girl announced, the winner is Carla P who hails from Pretoria.  Meet self confessed chocoholic Carla…

Congratulations once again Carla, I know you are going to love your Lindt chocolate hamper. I do so hope that you give those cuties of yours some of your chocolate winnings, its never too early to to start them on the good stuff!I want to say thank you though to every single person (I counted well over 180 entries across the various platforms) who entered this competition.  I had the most fabulous day reading through all your comments.

I asked what you were grateful for this holiday season mostly because I thought it would be a great idea to stop for a moment and consider what we already have that we could be grateful for in a holiday season, which if you do not keep your guard can often become all about getting and giving more stuff.

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”                   Melody Beattie

I never thought that reading your comments would teach me all over again to be truly grateful for so many things.   I was moved by all of your comments many of which spoke of a tough hard year, illness, unemployment and long family absences.  Despite the circumstances, what shone out was that the human spirit remained resilient and determined in its pursuit of hope and was still able to find many things to be grateful for.  In your sharing, I was so very blessed.I wish each and every one of you the most wonderful holiday season; with a heart of joy, gratitude and hope to keep you company.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.  [Proverbs 13 vs 12]
